Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan state of India Jaipur is founded and careful planning by great warrior-astronomer Maharaja Jai singh II in 1693-1743. Jai sing decided to move to hillside fort at nearby Amber. He laid out the city, with surrounding walls and rectangular block according to shilpa shastra. The spectacular Palace of winds or locally known as The Hawa Mahal which was built in 1799 AD and allowed the women from the royal families to see the street procession and other activities.It has 953 small niche windows. The stunning hill fort of Amber constructed in 1592 AD, is famous for its Elephant back ride that ascend the hill to reach the vibrant entrance of the fort. Other tourist interest places in Jaipur are housing the world's largest canon placed atop the hill - Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort. In Jaipur there are annual festivals such as The Elephant festival and Gangaur festival are celebrated bring in lots of colour to the city and attracts tourists from all over the world. One can buy world famous Jewellery and traditional textile work from Jaipur. Jaipur is also world famous for its authentic Rajasthani Cuisine.
